We first introduced AcreValue in beta about 2 years ago with estimated land values in a few states. Our mission was to make it easier for users to find and evaluate land, and make more informed decisions.
We have continually added deeper data about farmland properties in the U.S. and expanded coverage nationally. For any tract of land in any location, you can now view the ownership boundaries, name of the owner, estimated value, soil maps with expected soil productivity, land use & crop history and average slope. And we’re not stopping at helping our users evaluate land – see our latest blog post about bringing water rights data in the West to AcreValue.
Today, we’re excited to announce the next step in the evolution of AcreValue – land for sale!
Thousands of users visit AcreValue daily to lookup data about land because they are actively seeking land expansion opportunities. These opportunities can be challenging to source due to limited supply of publicly marketed listings and the prevalence of off-market transactions facilitated through personal networks. Adding land for sale was a natural next step in making it easier for our users to source these opportunities. We’ve started to build out this feature with the help of our partner, People’s Company, who provides us with up-to-date data on their current listings and publishing this information on AcreValue. And this is just the beginning! Stay tuned for more listings data and new opportunities to make connections within the land marketplace on AcreValue.
